Pervenio Protect™ is a handset fraud detection product that is used by mobile operators to track and block marked mobile devices in real time on the network; Protect™ ensures a cost effective, turnkey solution to enable a mobile operator to render a lost, stolen and fraudulent handset useless which helps to deter mobile handset theft. Additionally Pervenio Protect™ detects the offending subscriber’s identity (IMSI/MSISDN) and optionally blocks them from access to the network if using a fraudulent handset. The Pervenio Protect™ product can be deployed as a standardised active EIR in the network or as a Virtual EIR enterprise solution to minimise cost of deployment. Handset blocking in the mobile network is normally with a standard Equipment Identity Register (EIR) requiring costly MSC upgrades to support. Pervenio has provided a unique means of entry at a lower cost by enabling detection of the fraudulent handset activity from usage event data.
